Terms of Use

These conditions govern every visit, search, and use of content on this website. Continuing to use the site means you accept them; if you disagree, discontinue use.

NO FCRA USE. Assumption Parish Criminal History is privately operated and has no affiliation with parish, Louisiana, or federal government. This site and its advertising partners do not offer services for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The site identifies Assumption Parish and Louisiana record resources; it is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site is independent of government. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, performs official checks, or files paperwork for a visitor.

It points to custodians such as the Assumption Parish Sheriff, 23rd Judicial District Court and Clerk, Louisiana State Police BCII, and Louisiana Sex Offender and Child Predator Registry, along with outside research tools. Public access is governed by laws including the Louisiana Public Records Law, La. R.S. 44:1 et seq., while state criminal-history dissemination is restricted under La. R.S. 15:587.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, you agree not to:

  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools against these pages
  • Harass, stalk, threaten, or intimidate anyone with information found here
  • Use site content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any part of our systems
  • Interfere with site performance or another visitor's access
  • Violate federal, Louisiana, parish, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use this site or a linked tool to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against anyone; that conduct may also be criminal. Louisiana Sex Offender and Child Predator Registry information is specifically subject to La. R.S. 15:545, which prohibits misuse and permits prosecution for harassment, threats, or criminal acts. Registry publication supports public-safety awareness, never vigilantism or discriminatory blacklisting.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. Our advertising partners likewise do not offer this site as a tool for evaluating applicants, renters, insurance eligibility, or credit. Site or linked-tool data must not be used to:

  • Determine creditworthiness or insurance pricing
  • Evaluate housing or rental applicants
  • Make hiring or firing decisions
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or public benefit
  • Serve any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A check for a regulated purpose must come through the legally required official process or an FCRA-compliant screening provider; Louisiana State Police BCII controls authorized state criminal-history transactions.

5. No Legal Advice

The site provides general information, not legal advice. Only a Louisiana-licensed attorney can advise how an Assumption Parish charge, conviction, warrant, or expungement rule affects a particular matter.

6. No Warranties

All site content is provided "as is," without a guarantee that:

  • A partner tool's results will be complete or correct
  • Every page is free of bugs, errors, or vulnerabilities
  • The service will remain continuously available
  • Information is complete, accurate, or current at a particular time

Charges, dispositions, corrections, sealing, and expungement can change a record. Information gaps are unavoidable, and no page is an official statement of the Sheriff, Clerk, court, or other government body.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to the Sheriff, court portals, Louisiana agencies, legal-aid organizations, or commercial search providers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, fees, data practices, or availability. Review the destination's terms.

8. Intellectual Property

Assumption Parish Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, graphics, logos, and code. Written permission is required to copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative work from that material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for damages arising from site use, including reliance on information found here or through an external service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your site use or violation of these terms, including associated legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Louisiana law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from site use must be brought in a court located in Louisiana.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms at any time, and a revision becomes effective when posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may restrict or terminate site access at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect, and the affected provision is modified only as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions concerning these conditions may be directed through the Contact page.
